Fingerprinting is often part of formal procedures where strict rules apply with respect to different countries. The fingerprinting service of Van Kappel Security BV not only includes the taking of fingerprints but consists of the guidance of the entire process to the extent desired. We take care of the proper handling of the procedure you need to follow up to the secure transmission of documents pertaining to you. With this, we guarantee a unique, highly professional approach with a personal touch.

Most of the requests we receive are for an FBI Criminal Background Check. Under the “roadmap” tab you will find a simple explanation for obtaining this FBI statement. Requesting an FBI Criminal Background Check
Applying for an FBI Criminal Background check is fairly easy. Here, of course, it is important to know which path to follow to request this document. Below we briefly outline a step-by-step process for applying for an FBI Criminal Background Check.
Since 2017, it has been possible to apply online/electronically on the FBI’s website. Applying for the certificate online saves a lot of time because all the mandatory paperwork is eliminated. The entire application and payment is made through the FBI’s secure portal.

Step 1:
Open the FBI website, https://www.edo.cjis.gov, you will enter your e-mail address, in the first blue box on the right which you will encounter as you scroll down. You will then receive an email with a link and PIN.

Step 2:
You open the link in the email you received and enter the PIN in the new blue box that opens, after which you enter the FBI’s portal.

Step 3:
On the first page, enter your personal information. Make sure that your data as recorded in the passport matches the data you enter in the portal, for example fill in all your names as listed in your passport. In America, they call the second and third names, middle names. Date of birth in the format they are used to in America mm/dd/yy.
You will then proceed to the following pages where you will be asked for your address information and where 3 questions will appear, namely:
– do you want your date of birth on the document = YES
– Would you like to be kept informed by e-mail = YES
– do you wish to receive a hard copy of the result = YES

Step 4:
Complete the application by paying the $18 fee via credit card or PayPal.
After payment, you will receive a confirmation email, this email must eventually be printed attached to the fingerprint cards and identity statement and sent along to the FBI.

Step 5:
Have your fingerprints taken at an accredited agency, which performs the work in an office and has all the necessary hygienic measures in place there to perform it in the most careful manner.

Step 6:
You have an appointment for fingerprinting. VKSS handles the rest of the process for you. VKSS prepares the required FD-258 fingerprint cards and identity statement for you, and they can ship the documents to the FBI for you by express mail FedEx.

Step 7:
Once the FBI has received the documents, all you have to do is wait a few days. The digital result is available after only 2 to 5 working days after they receive the documents. This is the official document which is no different from the version they also send by mail. The hard copy is sent by regular mail and takes about 4 weeks to arrive.

Fingerprinting is by appointment only. If you would like to take advantage of this service, we kindly ask you to choose a date and time above. On the next page, fill in all the data required. On the chosen date and time, you will come by our office so we can take your fingerprints. If you prefer to fill out your information at a later time, you can also email fingerprints@vkss.nl first to make an appointment. We need your completed information several hours before the appointment to prepare the fingerprint cards and identity statement.
