Having your Certificate of Clearance (COC)/criminal Background Check from Singapore done is very easy knowing which steps you have to take and were to start. Hereby we provide you with a short roadmap how to receive your Singapore COC.

Step 1:
You can apply online on the website of the Singapore Force Police
https://eservices.police.gov.sg/content/policehubhome/homepage/certificate-of-clearance-hub.html

First you need to apply for the E-appeal. The application goes through SINGPASS or FIN. The approvement for your E-appeal can take a couple days.
On the page of the eservices is also mentioned which documents you need for the application.

*You need to use the browser Internet Explorer (IE) otherwise you cannot finish your application.
** The Singapore government almost maintain their web portal every day, therefore make sure you file any form or information outside of the maintenance window or else you will lose everything and have to start the application again.

Step 2:
When you received your approval from the Singapore Force Police you can start the online application for the certificate of clearance (COC).

On this page they have mentioned all the steps you need to take to apply for your COC from Singapore.
The portal from the Singapore Force Police is extensive and takes some time to finish. You need also to include a couple attachments like photocopy passport, passport photo, photocopy NRIC front and back, scan of the letter with reason COC application.

After the crime record is issued, you can either have them ship it to your address outside Singapore, for example the Netherlands, or have someone local pick up for you.

Step 3:
Finish your application and payment (S$ 60,-). You will receive an e-mail with a payment confirmation. The e-mail and the attachments both need to be printed and attached with the fingerprint cards.

Step 4:
Have your fingerprints taken at an accredited fingerprinting agency that operates in an office making use of professional equipment and clean sanitary. Make sure that the product containing your personal information and fingerprints as such provided by the fingerprinting agency includes the correct address of the Singapore Force Police that can be found in the email received after step 3. Sending this package can be done by the agency or yourself. We strongly recommend that the sender uses FedEx by traceable means in order to ensure that delivery takes place asap and with proof of receival by the Singapore Force Police. 

Step 5:
You have an appointment for getting your fingerprints. VKSS will take care of the whole process from there on including the “fingerprint cards” Industrial Identification cards and other documents that contain the information you have provided. The SFP sends the hard copy Certificate of Clearance by regular mail, the results arrive after a couple weeks.
